Board and Management Team
The board is in the process of building out its executive team and should be able to announce new hires in key positions shortly.
Pat Plunkett was chairman of Tullow Oil plc. from 2000 to 2011, during which time the company grew from a small cap oil & gas plc. to Africa's leading independent oil company, worth over £9bn. Mr Plunkett is an accountant with over thirty years' experience in the financial services sector, particularly in the areas of asset management, stockbroking and corporate finance. He managed the stockbroking and corporate finance businesses of ABN AMRO Bank in Ireland from 1993 to 1998. Pat is currently the non-executive chairman of Providence Resources Plc.
Gerry was previously a senior international exploration manager at Tullow Oil plc. He was highly involved in early transformational Tullow successes on the West Africa Margin, including Ghana, and the Energy Africa Acquisition. He has over thirty years' experience as a geo-scientist. He has multi-basin experience in both onshore and offshore sites.
Chris is a chartered accountant and spent four years at KPMG Ireland, where he worked with a number of major national and international banking clients with a number of major national and international banking clients. He has been with T5 since its inception and has been a key member of the finance and commercial teams. Prior to joining T5, Chris worked for a boutique corporate finance firm in Dublin, where he was involved in a variety of M&A and trade-sale transactions.
Chief Operating Officer
Phil has over 30 years of International experience in the oil and gas industry, primarily gained in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Most recently he provided the technical lead to a privately financed team looking at West African projects focussing on Nigeria. Previous to this he was Technical Director of Valiant Petroleum plc where he was significantly involved in taking the company from private start up to becoming a $450 million UK listed production company. Phil has exceptional technical credentials in the oil and gas sector with specific expertise in reservoir and field appraisal, oil field development and production operations. In addition he has significant corporate management and business development skills and experience. Phil holds an MSc in Sedimentology from the University of London and a BSc (honours) in Geology from College of St Paul & St. Mary.
Matthew O'Donoghue served on the Board of Tullow as an Executive Director 1998 until 2008. He was Director of International Operations, Projects, Contracts and Procurement. He joined Tullow in 1987 and was General Manager in Senegal. He has extensive experience in Africa, The Middle East, South Asia and Europe. He was a core member of the original Tullow team that developed the Group's business and international operating capability. Qualified with a B.Sc in Physics, he has over thirty five years' experience in the oil & gas Exploration and Development sectors and also held a number of senior Engineering and Management roles with Schlumberger Wireline, working in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Business Development Director
Alain has over 20 years of West African and International oil and gas experience. He is a former petroleum geologist with Energy Africa Ltd (Tullow) and a Mining Engineer. Alain founded of GGPC (First Africa Oil Plc) on Gabon assets and negotiated the acquisition of the 20% interest in the giant MKB asset in D.R. Congo for Prevail Energy. He is also the founder of Triune Oil & Gas (US Texas and Tennessee assets) and several other mining companies.
Michael has over twenty-five years of experience forming, financing and operating private and public companies. He has raised and overseen the investment of approximately $200 million for oil & gas and mining projects in North America and Europe. Mr. Judson currently sits on the board of two Canadian public oil & gas companies and is managing director of Judson & Cie, a financial and restructuring advisory he formed in 2013.
